A pair of coastal homes that step down a hillside like they were always meant to be there. White cladding and timber decks catch the last light at dusk, while native coastal planting softens the edges. Each home has its own garage, its own entry, and its own slice of the view — no compromise.
What we were working with
A steep coastal lot with ocean views that had to accommodate two separate, generous homes without either one blocking the other's outlook or feeling like the lesser build.
How we solved it
Staggering the homes vertically down the slope so each captures uninterrupted views. The shared driveway splits naturally, and the native landscaping between them creates privacy without fences. Light-coloured cladding keeps both homes feeling open and coastal, while the elevated decks extend the living space into the view.
