Bonner Residence
Bonner, ACT
A two-storey home that proves you don't need to shout to stand out. White panel cladding and dark brick share the facade, with a stone feature column anchoring the entry. Skillion rooflines give it a sharp, contemporary silhouette, while generous glazing lets the interior glow at dusk.
What we were working with
Designing a home in a new suburb where every second house looks the same. The brief was contemporary and bold — but it still had to feel like a home, not a showpiece.
How we solved it
A deliberate mix of materials does the heavy lifting — dark brick grounds the base, white panels lighten the upper level, and a stone column adds just enough texture at the entry. The asymmetric roofline breaks up the mass and gives the facade a sense of direction.
