The brief was simple: contemporary, but warm. Not a white box — a home that feels alive. Vertical timber battens create rhythm and shadow across the facade, while the material palette of white render, natural timber, and dark frames gives it a presence that's bold without being loud.
What we were working with
How do you make a modern home feel welcoming? Most contemporary designs end up looking cold and clinical. The owners wanted something that felt lived-in from day one.
How we solved it
Timber battens in varying widths were the answer — they soften the facade, catch the light differently throughout the day, and give the house a texture you can feel from the street. Inside, the same warmth continues with natural materials and generous windows that pull the garden in.
