Bellmount Forest Residence
Bellmount Forest, NSW
Set deep in native bushland, this home was designed to sit within the landscape rather than on top of it. Angular rooflines and dark cladding echo the surrounding canopy, while timber battens bring warmth and texture to the facade. Solar panels and considered orientation make it as efficient as it is striking.
What we were working with
Building in a bush setting means working with slope, fire regulations, and a landscape that doesn't forgive heavy-handed design. The home had to feel like it grew there — not like it was dropped in by crane.
How we solved it
Low-profile rooflines follow the tree canopy. Dark cladding disappears into the bush backdrop, while timber battens and natural stone ground the home to its site. Every window is positioned for views into the trees, and the floor plan wraps around existing vegetation rather than clearing it.
